Description of Position:

  • Responsibilities include:
    • OS (Linux) - (version 5 or higher). Linux Administration
    • Patch and update Linux and VM systems.
    • Infrastructure Management: Install and configures VMware Infrastructure Server.
    • Analyze system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
    • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing data center environments.
    • Performing routine audit of systems and software.
    • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
    • Installing and configuring new hardware and software.
    • Adding, removing, or updating user account information, resetting passwords, etc.
    • Answer technical queries and assist developers and end users.
    • Responsible for security of the system.
    • Responsible for documenting the configuration of the system.
    • Troubleshoot any reported problems.
    • System performance tuning.
    • Configuring, adding, and deleting file systems
    • Build new development, test and production environments utilizing Dell Blade servers and VMware.
    • Install and configure VMware ESX server on Dell Blades
    • Build Active Directory Domain Servers.
    • Install and configure infrastructure related software such as DNS, McAfee EPO Servers, CENTRIFY, LDAP, DHCP and Linux repositories for patching and updates.
    • Performed daily task of all virtual environments to include building new virtual machines, updating DNS and troubleshooting system problems.
    • Create documentation for builds and upgrades.
    • Install and configure infrastructure applications and support integration with critical application environment.
    • Support Certification and Accreditation of Systems.
    • Tier III support


Education and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Business Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Management, Program Management etc) is desired.
  • A minimum of thirteen (13) years experience in software engineering/development and/or systems engineering/analysis. Within this thirteen (13) years, candidate:
    • Shall have three (3) years of direct experience with an intelligence community or signals intelligence activity.
    • Shall have ten (10) years experience with installation, maintenance, and trouble shooting of LAN, WAN, computer hardware and software.
    • Shall have five (5) years demonstrated experience performing and assisting with equipment specification, setup, problem resolution, network support, etc., related to computer hardware and software; and providing assistance to users.
    • Shall have five (5) years demonstrated experience optimizing system operations.
    • Shall have five (5) years experience ensuring licensing agreements and system currency.
    • Must possess experience in all phases of software engineering to include requirements analysis, development, testing and integration, maintenance and problem diagnosis/resolution and/or experience in phases of applications systems analysis to include evaluation and design, integration and optimization of complex systems.
    • Must have experience with communication applications, database management, use of programming languages and knowledge of storage and retrieval methods.
  • Desired Experience: 
    • At least three (3) years of direct experience with and intelligence community or signals intelligent activity.
