Job Description

Installs and configures Microsoft and RedHat operating systems along with various Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) that support USARAK Mission Training Complex (MTC) constructive and collective training events.

Creates and maintains active directory and email accounts.

Configures and maintains virtual servers; DNS servers; mail servers; Tactical Mission Command servers and storage servers.

Maintains server and client security.

Ensures the operational continuity between MCIS and their associated servers.

Installs and configures MCIS as well as administrative computers; displays; and VoIP phones.

Assists the Simulation Lead with technical issues concerning the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability Entity Resolution Federation (JLCCTC-ERF) suite as it applies to stimulation of MCIS.

Assists in the setup and tear down of reconfigurable systems.

Installs network and power cables.

Maintains system documentation and data integrity.

Maintains current backup images of all operational systems.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Participates in special projects as required.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience.

Qualifications

8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

Must be fluent with Microsoft Server 2008. Must hold a current CompTIA Security+ CE certification or be able to obtain one within 6 months of employment.

MCP/MCSE or equivalent certification preferred.

Knowledge of the principles; methods; and techniques used in systems administration troubleshooting and support.

Knowledge of related hardware and software.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

This position requires occasional travel away from normal duty station. The incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours; which may include evenings; weekends and or holidays. Position involves some periods of physical activity such as long periods of standing and walking during configuration for exercises. Regularly lifts; bends; reaches and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds or heavier weight with assistance. Candidate must comply with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
