SUMMARY
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for technical design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of databases and applications databases to satisfy requirements of one or more systems. Responsible for creation of data services and integrating the data service components. Creates appropriate processes for migration and deployment of applications from development to production through various testing environments. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for designing, maintaining, enhancing and developing critical SQL databases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates experience and knowledge of working in a technical environment and working closely with Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and Technologies.
Carries out quarterly/yearly hardware and software maintenance including software patches, software application upgrades and physical storage expansions of VistA Imaging systems.
Demonstrates experience in both onsite and remote software maintenance activities such as software, operating systems and firmware updates.
Provides troubleshooting and call logging for hardware issues on a range of equipment: HP ProLiant Servers, DL380 and DL360. HP Storage works Storage systems like: MSA2040 EVA6400/4400, P6300, P2000 and 3PAR 7200. HP Tape library: HP Ultrium Autoloader 1/8, MSL6030, MSL2024 and MSL4048.
Performs maintenance (including onsite and remote software maintenance and updates; Software Support). Provides software support for Windows OS, Backup Exec, Windows Hyper V (to include virtual machine functioning) and Plasmon Archive Appliance.
Demonstrated experience as a Windows systems admin (program installation, patching and configuration).
Demonstrated experience with configuring systems to join a network, troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues.
Demonstrated experience with configuring Group Policy Objects (GPO) (Local, Site, Domain, OU).
Strong background in network administration (For example: TCP/IP, UDP DNS, ARP, BGP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP and LDAP).
Oversees multiple vendors and associated equipment, applications and operating systems with different contracts, warranties, processes, licenses, patches and upgrade pipelines.
Maintains SLAs in complex environments, including instances where there are varied requirements for application availability, data retention, speed of recovery and network availability.
Deploys new services and applications faster with limited understanding of resource availability - capacity, power, cooling and space, as well as, inconsistent policies and structure.
Supports High Availability Production environments with 99.9%+ SLA expectations.
Supports High Availability and Always-On installations.
Specific Domain: Microsoft Technologies, HPE Storage.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field of study preferred, and a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Systems Administration, working in a technical environment and working closely with Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and Technologies.
Must have excellent communication (verbal, presentation, and written) and organizational skills. Excellent skills developing approaches to meet client needs/demands while staying within project budget guidelines. Excellent follow-up and time management skills. Strong customer service orientation and associated skills. A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
CompTIA Networking + Certification preferred
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Administration of Windows 2000 Server or newer is required
Knowledge of Disaster recovery approaches, replication (geographic redundancy a plus)
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot services for complex problems, recommending improvements, staying up-to-date on security vulnerabilities, new features, hardware, software and feasibility determination
Knowledge of how to prioritize workflow required
Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations without disruption of efficiency or professional demeanor required
Ability to work flexible hours according to business demands; sometimes on short notice required
