The Smeal College of Business is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic and fast paced environment. Major duties will include: administering our systems management tool, providing support for our Active Directory, Windowsinfrastructure and VMware (including installation, testing and troubleshooting) and help ensure highest level of availability and performance of our mission critical services. Duties will also include consultative IT support, faculty research systems support, and assisting with lab management. The candidate must have demonstrated experience with virtualization, MS SQL, VMware, Windows Server 2012/2016, web servers, knowledge of systems management, windows clustering, performance tuning, and monitoring tools. This position requires a thorough understanding of Active Directory services with experience in backup, restore and disaster recovery planning. An ideal candidate will possess the ability to be flexible with rapidly changing priorities, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. This position expects the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. The ability to multi-task and work in a diverse atmosphere is a must. Receptivity to constant upgrading of skills and computer related knowledge is essential. Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills are fundamental for this position. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
