The successful candidate will be a self-starting, highly motivated team player functioning within a team that is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the EpicCare Ambulatory application. The Systems Specialist/Principal Trainer supports all aspects of end user training in their respective Epic module. The Systems Specialist/Principal Trainer is responsible for developing and maintaining course curriculum, training materials, and conducting classroom training for Hackensack Meridian Health staff The position entails working effectively with a variety of areas including administration, nursing, physicians, management, and vendor consultants in the development and the implementation of the EpicCare Ambulatory application. The candidate must understand the objectives for implementing a clinical system and have the ability to recognize opportunities for process redesign in order to maximize the benefits of the implementation. The Systems Specialist/Principal Trainer is expected to offer a mix of skills from operational, technical, and leadership backgrounds and is the backbone of an effective training/operational readiness program. This role is required to have Epic certification and to work with end-users to deliver a product that meets strategic, organizational, and departmental goals. The Systems Specialist/Principal Trainer operates in a matrix reporting environment as a direct report to the Ambulatory Systems Manager/Project Lead and as an indirect report to the Epic Training Manager.
Master both The respective Epic module and The relevant operational workflows develop and maintain Epic course curriculum along with all training materials for The respective Epic application.
Interested individuals must have strong intellectual capability, maturity and judgment, as demonstrated by their academic performance, relevant professional experience, and other demonstrated achievements. Successful candidates will meet the following qualifications: BachelorDegreerequired from an accredited institution with strong record of academic achievement, preferably in adult education and/or professional discipline (nursing, physician assistant) Minimum 3+ years of experience in a health care environment with strong knowledge of clinical workflow in an ambulatory setting Previous experience with adult education and instructional design preferred. LPN/RNdegree a strong plus Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to write and edit curriculum for all roles that require training and create job aids and other training materials. Must possess solid interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and attend numerous meetings Must be willing to spend significant time leading classroom training and must be able to present the material clearly and with confidence. Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and job requirements quickly as well as handle frequent change. Willingness to travel overnight for educational classes and to work non-standard and/or extended hours.
