The System Operational Manager will collaborate with the Lead Site Pharmacist at Bon Secours Community Hospital and St. Anthony Community Hospital to supervise the pharmacists and technicians to assure safe, efficient, appropriate, and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services including Good Samaritan Hospital pharmacy. The System Operational Manager will assist the System Director of Charity Pharmacy Services in developing competency assessment programs that ensure all pharmacy staff performs all duties and responsibilities with utmost efficiency and safety; as well as complies with all applicable policies, procedures, and standards of the Bon Secours Charity Hospitals. Duties and responsibilities should be performed in a manner consistent with the WMC Health Network Bon Secours Charity Health System mission and values.
Responsibilities:- Coordinates and directs all day-to-day operations of the Good Samaritan Pharmacy Department.
- Assists the System Director of Pharmacy with planning budget preparation, inventory, and cost control.
- Work with Revenue Integrity to ensure that the hospital is being properly reimbursed for high-cost medications being dispensed in the outpatient infusion centers.
- Optimized using the 340B Purchasing Program to lower medication costs for the hospital and participates in auditing records to ensure compliance with the 340B Purchasing Program for Good Samaritan Hospital and Bon Secours Community Pharmacy.
- Utilizes and maximizes automated dispensing machines for the Bon Secours Charity Hospitals
- Assists the System Director of Pharmacy to ensure regulatory compliance for the ordering and dispensing controlled substances for the Good Samaritan Hospital.
- Completes quality assurance auditing as required.
- Interviews and assists in hiring prospective pharmacy staff employees for the Bon Secours Charity Pharmacies.
- Ensures preparation of monthly work schedules for the Bon Secours Charity Pharmacies.
- Evaluates direct reports.
- Assists the System Director of Pharmacy in developing policies and procedures.
- Participates in clinical meetings as directed by the Director of Pharmacy.
- Assist the System Director of Pharmacy and the Lead Pharmacist from BSCH and SACH in preparing and attending their respective Medication Safety Committee meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the System Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications/Requirements:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility experience in an assistant directorship, managerial or supervisory position in an institutional Pharmacy required. Prior experience with 340B Program and Pyxis preferred.
Education: Bachelor of Science required, Doctorate in Pharmacy or Masters preferred.
Licenses / Certifications: New York State Pharmacist license required.
Other: Strong planning, prioritizing and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to think and act independently as well as in a team environment.
Special Requirements: Strong computer and keyboarding skills including MS Office applications. Demonstrated customer services skills.
