The System Manager of Central Transportation and Linen function is responsible for delivering hospital standards of achievement for customer satisfaction and employee performance goals across the NCH Healthcare System. Also accountable for meeting financial performance levels for Patient Transport, Linen Distribution, Receiving-Distribution and Patient Nourishment Replacement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the transportation department and linen function across the NCH healthcare System.

  • Manages the daily operations and scheduling of staff across both campuses for the transport function while meeting established performance goals.

  • Ensures strong metrics are attained in employee engagement and retention.

  • Oversees linen operations as this is a contracted service to the health system

  • Responsible for the payroll time keeping "Kronos and Clarivia" for all assigned staff.

  • Performs as System Administrator for the Tele-Tracking, Patient Transport system, providing all reports used to enhance employee performance, increase patient satisfaction and provide adequate "On Time" patient transport services.

  • Responsible for managing a "Cross Training Program which produces a Multi-Tasking staff.

  • Responsible for all new employees interviewing, hiring and responsible for producing all employees' annual evaluations, Occupational Health visits, and BSL license renewals.

  • Systems administrator of the "Vuetura" Package Processing and Tracking system. Provides selected reports used to enhance employee productivity, increase customer satisfaction, and enhance "On Time Deliveries".

  • Provide and maintain continuous regulatory requirements including Fall Precautions, safe handling of O2, Infection Protection Standards, Emergency Preparedness, and all safety regulations, and processes.

  • Responsible for employee and subcontractor compliance to NCH "Core Values".

  • Provides employee mentoring, coaching and corrective action as necessary.

  • Conducts monthly staff meetings designed to communicate essential information, get employee engagement with the enhancement for improving both customer and employee satisfaction.

  • Responsible for operating budgets, prudent scheduling of staffing satisfies all labor and other department expenses and strive to meet all hospital goal and objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required a Master's Degree is preferred.

  • 3 - 5 years of management experience preferably in transport, linen or hospitality services.
