Responsible for the standardization of life and fire safety program across the HHC system. Provides and coordinates risk assessments and acts a technical resource for life and fire safety programs. Will review and provide life and fire safety metrics for each HHC entity to ensure proper program focus and development. Provides direct support as required for HHC affiliates in the creation and operation of EOC/Safety Committees. Provides consultation on life and fire safety matters and assists in the development and implementation of life and fire safety training courses. Develops and writes policies and procedures as required. Performs other duties as assigned by System Director of EOC and Regulatory Compliance.
Coordinates facility life and fire safety risk assessments, EOC management plans, policies and protocols, key performance indicators and annual reviews for all HHC entities.
Coordinates all inspections by city, state and federal regulatory agencies and insurance companies related to the safety of the physical plant.
Conducts risk assessments for life and fire safety hazards and takes corrective actions to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Acts as a consultant and resource to manage and standardize policies and procedures for all Hartford Healthcare affiliates in matters related to life and fire safety.
Provides training and in-services to department leaders, EOC Team members, staff, other HHC entity compliance or other identified local level subject matter experts to ensure life and fire safety compliance.
Responsible for all Joint Commission regulatory requirements related to life safety and fire safety for HHC entities while working with local identified experts to maintain compliance.
Works effectively as a team member with all departments to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.
Responsible for the supervision and performance evaluations of Fire Safety Officers.
Responds to and coordinates Life Safety Response when a facility activates its emergency management plans.
5-10 years fire safety experience required
5-10 healthcare experience required
Certified Fire Protection Specialist required
State Fire Marshal Certification required
Hazardous Material Operations certification required
