As a junior member of Viasat’s fast-paced systems integration and test engineering team, you will contribute on a variety of tasks including proposal writing, system design, system/algorithm simulation, design implementation, and system test and verification of communications systems and components for satellite and optical communications markets. You will work closely with and be mentored by small and large teams to develop cutting edge technology with a focus on quality and time to market. Requirements:

  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and simulate algorithms in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, or Python
  • Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in large or small teams, or individually
  • US Government position. US citizenship required.
  • Willingness to obtain US Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferences:

  • Educational focus on communications (satellite or optical), signal processing, or networking
  • Linux/Unix Experience
  • Experience with system testing and verification
  • Experience with commonly used communications and electrical test equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzer, power meter, oscilloscope and others)
  • Active Secret Clearance
