Job Description:

The Product Definer will be responsible for defining integrated circuit (IC) and software requirements to enable product solutions by translating the customer’s needs into detailed design and test specifications. Play a fundamental role in defining next-generation audio solutions for NXP Audio Solution Product Line. This role is highly valued, can receive considerable recognition and will be part of a close-knit, winning team. This is a highly visible position with significant career advancement opportunities.

Job Summary:

  • Collaborate with Tier 1 customers and our Marketing and Design/Development teams to define performance and functional requirements, feature set, and architecture definition for Audio IC designs involving Class AB/D amplifiers, buck/boost converters, charge pumps, ADCs/DACs, and digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Consider all product requirements such as customers' needs, hardware/firmware/algorithm requirements and partitioning, packaging options, etc.
  • Consider design/system constraints and trades-offs and propose viable solutions.
  • Author, review, and update technical documentation and communicate ideas and specifications to technical audiences (internal and external customers).
  • Participate in IC/software architecture and design reviews, and board-level design reviews with design engineering, applications, validation and product test engineers.
  • Perform thorough competitive analysis including lab investigations
  • Participate in industry conferences and forums to ensure device compatibility with adopted standards.
  • Travel approximately 25% per year, both domestically and abroad, to interface directly with our customers.

    Job Qualifications:
  • MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience
  • User experience or user interface design, audio and mix signal processing expertise
  • Experience with Class D, buck and boost topologies
