The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, security and operation of the systems attached to the Matrix network. This position is also responsible for providing support for technology issues and occasional end user support.  The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment. This person will also be required to provide support for off-hours change windows and participate in on-call responsibilities.


  • Architect, implement and maintain Active Directory, support systems for windows environment
  • Support server infrastructure for both virtual and physical environments Support Active Directory, Exchange, and Clustered File Server environments Provide Tier 3 level user and hardware support of Windows based network system
  • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems
  • Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and monitor system events
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
  • Support Storage Area Network
  • Works extended and/or alternative hours as needed for system upgrades, etc. (Change Windows)
  • Monitors system health and responds promptly to system alerts and events
  • Provide on-callsupport during off hours as part of a four person weekly rotation
  • Take on special projects as assigned by IT Management


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology curriculum or equivalent experience /5+ years working in a Microsoft environment with at least 3 years working as a Systems Administrator/Engineer 
  • 3+ years maintaining a Microsoft Exchange environments
  • Advanced familiarity with Active Directory Roles and Features, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Cluster Services, Remote Desktop Services, Group Policy Objects
  • Knowledge of backup systems & Veeam
  • Familiarity with VMware VSphere 5.5, 6.5
  • Familiarity with SAN solutions. Company currently runs Compellent
  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills; strong sense of responsibility and initiative
  • Strong desire to learn and improve

  • Communicate well with all levels of management and company personnel
