Govplace is looking for a System/Network Management Administrator to be responsible for supporting the management and maintenance of all Enterprise Management Tools for as part of a DHS contract. We are specifically looking for an engineer with experience with Networks and a Unix background to help administer the network management tools such as Solarwinds Enterprise Suite, Netcool, and syslog-NG. The Tech will additionally assist in the administration of all Microsoft System Center tools including SCCM, SCOM and SCSM products. This position will also be responsible for understanding IT Infrastructure, and applications in general, to better manage the client's IT Enterprise.

Position Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

•Main support will be on the Network Management tool Solarwinds 
•Support for tuning the alerting for monitoring set up for Network, Linux devices, and specialized appliances 
•Will be responsible for the Server administration of all Servers running the Enterprise Tool Applications 
•Will be responsible for monitoring Enterprise Tools systems and troubleshooting problems identified 
•Responsible for escalating issues to senior team members as needed 
•Will support all Enterprise Engineers for all things the Enterprise Management toolsets 
•Update and create Documentation. 
•Support the organization’s change and configuration management policy, practice and methodology.

Required Skills and Experience: 

•Working experience deploying and/or maintaining Network (Layer 2/3 devices, i.e., Cisco, Juniper, Nortel, etc.) 
•Experience using Network Management tools to manage Network devices (Layer 2/3 devices) such as Solarwinds, HP Openview, etc. 
•3+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix systems 
•Understanding of Unix/Linux architecture 
•3+ years of experience working with Desktop and/or Server incident troubleshooting 
•Understanding of Desktop architecture 
•BA degree or equivalent plus 3+ years relevant experience 
•Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher

• Ability to work well in teams to provide strong, relevant input and to allow ideas from others to be shared and used when appropriate
