The System Center Engineer (SCCM) will focus on architecting, designing and implementing the primary component called System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). The project:

    • Convert the current TEST environment of SCCM 17XX to PRODUCTION
    • Review/modify/create/finalize design documents, plans, and configurations
    • Submit Change Requests for approvals, test, and complete implementation/deployment of SCCM 17XX.
    • Monitor, tune performance, and complete all documentation (configuration guide, runbooks, standard operating procedures, work instructions, etc)
    • Train existing technical staff on SCCM operations and maintenance including rebuild and patching
    • Document lessons learned, complete project closeout, and official transition to operations and maintenance support

The System Center Engineer will be the sole Microsoft System Center subject matter expert (SME). The System Center Engineer will have the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Minimum General Experience: Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Functional Responsibility: Applies subject matter knowledge to high-level analysis, collection, assessment, design, development, modeling, simulation, integration, installation, documentation, and implementation. Resolves problems, which necessitates an intimate knowledge of the related technical subject matter
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or without degree12 or more years of experience related to position

The System Center Engineer must:

  • Work closely with the Network Services team, Client Engineering team and government IT specialists
  • Perform systems analysis of existing infrastructure. This includes both hardware and software
  • Gather requirements for the System Center infrastructure
  • Have the ability to architect and draft the implementation/deployment plan
  • Implement/deploy Microsoft System Center infrastructure and SCCM 17xx
  • Draft documentation such as diagrams, SOPs, configuration guides, and runbooks
  • Provide training to current staff on Microsoft System Center
  • Troubleshoot as the SME on all issues related to SCCM and System Center
  • Provide daily status on project efforts
  • Ability to implement additional features and components of System Center (for example, SCSM, Orchestrator, etc.) later
