Job Summary: The System Nurse Manager, Nursing Professional Development is responsible for the development and oversight of nursing education initiatives that promote professional education and advancement within the System Department of Nursing. The System Nurse Manager plans and implements education strategies for departments within the organization. The position ensures compliance requirements are met, adheres to program guidelines, and develop, manages and monitors special topic programs. This manager is also responsible for the System Nursing Professional Development Specialists (NPDS) and has the NPDS team reporting to this position across the system. Responsibilities include but not limited to collaboration with the System Senior VP and System Chief Nursing Officer, System Director of Nursing Education, Practice, and Research, Nursing Directors and nursing leadership to implement and evaluate nursing educational programs to ensure standardization across the system. Provides day-to-day supervision/management of the System Nursing Professional Development Specialists (NPDS). Establishes a comprehensive plan for the Department of Nursing's educational needs.
Job Requirements: Graduate of a professional school of nursing with current Pennsylvania licensure. Bachelordegree in Nursing, Master's Degree in Nursing or Education required. Experience in educational program development and adult education is required. No less than 5 years of nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior management and leadership experience in an acute care setting. Certification in nursing specialty.
