As an Synthetic Aperture Radar Research Scientist, you will work with a team of engineers to support the research & development lifecycle for technologies that enable and advance semi and fully autonomous systems for both defense and commercial customers. You will serve as an expert with up-to-date knowledge on modern Image Processing techniques with the ability to rapidly design / implement / verify solutions. This role is also capable of supporting the software development from requirements generation through development, integration, testing, and deployment.

Key responsibilities of this position are noted below:

• Researches and discovers improvements to existing SAR algorithms

• Uses Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to implement solutions to difficult technical problems

• Optimizes the performance of software algorithms, applications, and platforms

• Develops and documents algorithm and implementation requirements

• Able to leverage and refine existing software development and apply to new applications


Typically has 7 - 12 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of application areas (Synthetic Aperture Radar, signal processing, etc.)

• Experience in design and implementation of SAR algorithms

• Exceptional signal processing and mathematical skills, including the ability to understand programming in Python, C/C++, Java

• Degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, various engineering disciplines, or related STEM discipline

Desired Skills:

• Experience working and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary research team setting

• Experience with signal processing, computer vision, OpenCV

• Uses Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to implement solutions to difficult technical problems

• Experience working with product teams to integrate ideas or transfer technology into products

• Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, various engineering disciplines, or related STEM discipline
