Position Description

RAND’s Survey Research Group (SRG) is seeking a senior level Survey Coordinator to manage data collection projects of varying degrees of complexity across a range of survey modes. The ability to build and maintain an internal client base is a key component of the position as it is funded through project work. This position requires experience managing projects across multiple modes of data collection and a thorough knowledge of best practices in social science or policy research methods. Applicants must be advanced users of Microsoft Office and be familiar with spreadsheets and at least one computer-assisted interview application.

Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

•             Research design

•             Project management

•             Recruiting, training staff

•             Mentoring and overseeing junior staff

•             Monitoring budgets

•             Proposal writing and budgeting

•             Authoring reports and client summaries

Some travel may be required.

Education Requirements

A Master's degree in a field of study related to social science or policy research is required.


Minimum of 6 years of experience

Security Clearance

A U.S. Government security clearance may be required.
