The Supply Chain Manager - Clinical Sourcing is a highly visible position with accountability at the system level to develop and execute sourcing strategies for medical devices and supplies. This position will assist in the management of $150M in aggregate spend. This position is responsible for facilitating a system-wide value analysis team, sourcing teams, and interacting with business partners and key stakeholders. This position is also responsible for developing comprehensive clinical and utilization protocols, developing and executing product standardization plan for the entire system. This position is expected to build strategic alliances withkey stakeholders as it relates to successfully executing our Supply Chain Strategy.
Develops and facilitates a system-wide value analysis team. This involves product research, cost/reimbursement analysis, and presentation development in support of value analysis process.Assists with the development and implementation of strategies and processes for reducing supply expense while not forfeiting quality of care.Monitors, communicates, and makes improvements to utilization profiling within assigned categories.Collaborates with physicians in identifying and implementing improvements and standardization in support of conversion initiatives.Maintains and communicates financial and performance measurements as gauge of standardization/utilization successManage assigned sourcing initiatives including scoping analysis, RFP development, proposal evaluations, negotiations, communication of recommendations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management. Monitor and report compliance for system-wide contracts; identify recurring trends and key opportunities for vendor or internal improvementsUtilize various data sources to obtain product information and investigate potential sourcing opportunities
Qualifications - Minimum
Required Minimum Education: 4 yr Bachelors Degree, specialty / major: Business Administration, Supply Chain
Preferred Education: 4 year Bachelors Degree, specialty / major: Nursing
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 5 years progressive management experience in healthcare environment. Direct service line leadership or supply chain experience preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Has demonstrated leadership and management ability with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively form collaborative team relationships with senior administrators, department managers/directors, physicians, vendors, and clinical staff to support Mercy Health’s supply expense and service line goals. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate well at all levels of an organization. Must have demonstrated the usefulness of “evidence-based” practice as a method for decision making. Superior analytical skills required.
