A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement short and long term plans to achieve global product supply strategies as it relates to Animas integration (materials, supply, and cost strategies).

  • Execute the supply purchasing function for all Animas products to assure product availability and distribution per a realistic production plan and in line with the current sales and operations plan.

  • Partner cross functionally and across the Diabetes BUs to understand business needs and work to ensure the Operations team develops a coordinated systems plan and strong project management plan for a successful implementation.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams on global returns of assets and reconciled to plan.

  • Coordinate internal resources and partner Global & Regional supply chain .

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

  • Manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.

  • Utilize process improvement and project management principles and tools to deliver practical solutions to complex problems and achieve significant improvement results.

  • Ensure that projects / activities initiated are linked to strategic and tactical imperatives.

  • Lead global demand/distribution analysis to meet goals as they pertain to AOP volumes, service level, inventory and OPC.

  • Communicate collaboratively and negotiate with Strategic Sourcing, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Distribution, and Finance.

  • Provide a system for negotiation, allocation and management of product distribution when supply is limited or during phase out.

  • Generate and publish key metrics regarding product availability, production capability and actual delivery.

  • Identify potential issues in the supply and communicate to management and mitigation plans.

  • Engage people and develop them through team work and a high level of participation.

  • Lead projects from initiation to successful/timely completion; develop and define project charters, schedules and key milestones/deliverables.

  • Anticipate and proactively manage program risks and issues that impact program progress.

  • Assess change readiness and prepare plans to assist stakeholders navigate through change.

  • Communicate and share results and/or best practices to cross functional teams.

  • Interface with IT for business systems daily and project-based needs.

  • Document customer requirements, and contribute to the completion of solution designs and functional specifications.

  • Report and communicate status and results from process improvement efforts to key stakeholders and senior staff in order to instill and sustain changes.

  • Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing distribution and supply chain projects and process improvement initiatives to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of materials.

  • Supply chain processes include but are not limited to new product launches, phase outs, manufacturing transfers, cross-functional resource planning, SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning), and planning process standardization.

  • Sets clear direction and management that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's product availability and delivery objectives.

  • Interacts and works closely with other departments, including but not limited to Marketing, Released Product Engineering, Regulatory, Package Engineering, and Sourcing to establish standard processes, manage risk and reduce costs in order to meet product availability and delivery objectives.

  • Directs day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.

  • Establishes meaningful metrics.

  • Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting and issue resolution.

Must Haves:

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of work experience OR Masters degree with 3+ years of work experience
Experience with global supply chain program management
