This position is responsible for overseeing and improving the value stream related to scheduling customer orders with the factory, coordination and financial responsibility for outbound traffic. In addition, assure Production Control information is verified and accurate related to BoM’s, unit of construction, and configuration. This position is required to create schedules that satisfy level loading, external customers required delivery dates, and internal customers manufacturing capabilities with a focus on productivity efficiency and improving the customer’s experience. This position will have direct reports responsible for Production Control Activity, direct customer site interface, and coordinating outbound traffic schedules. This position will identify, manage, and create order management related processes to continuously drive improvements within the value stream.


  • Minimum of 6 years experience in logistics, supply planning, procurement
  • Experience with and understanding of Material Requirements Planning systems
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Manufacturing a plus
  • Must possess a high degree of ownership and sense of urgency in support of manufacturing schedules and plant sales goals
  • Must be a good communicator (verbal and written) and able to integrate with and work within a team environment
  • Must possess and display leadership skills related to alignment of people and team development
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and follow up skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications
  • High degree of initiative and ownership, attention to detail, and the discipline to follow through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to develop and manage metrics that drive performance
  • Advanced Microsoft Office user with an emphasis on Excel
  • Understand and ability to apply DMAIC Root Cause Analysis Principles, Lean Manufacturing Methodologies and JIT concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Operations Management, Accounting)
  • APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management preferred


  • This position will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Direct interaction with Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Credit, Quality, and External Customers
  • Identify, manage and create order management relatedprocessesand assure their effectiveness and efficiency


  • Supervise, develop, and continuously improve the order management team
  • Meet regularly with direct reports, provide SMART objectives, development opportunities, and timely feedback
  • Verify Unit and Aftermarket orders with Bill of Materials, Order Details, and Submittals with manufacturing and engineering to assure Fit, Form, and Function
  • Analyze and prepare month-end reports related to Finished Goods and Work in Process; ensure information is cohesive between actual state of the production order and PeopleSoft financial software
  • Ensure Production Identification Orders within PeopleSoft Financial Software are timely, accurate, and reliable to support Financial and Inventory Control related processes
  • Schedule Unit and Aftermarket Orders utilizing ERP and Access DB software. Ensure all workflow and information is complete to successfully firm and release unit orders allowing timely visibility in MRP
  • Create and maintain master production schedules by balancing machine, man, and material resources to optimize plant efficiency
  • Create and maintain master production schedule to meet On Time Delivery related to Customer Expectations, Traffic Constraints, and Internal Business Goals
  • Provide all the necessary information to Manufacturing to build each product to specification
  • Identify and coordinate all shipping logistics
  • Choose suppliers and negotiate costs associated with outbound freight (If Required)
  • Manage freight claims for both inbound and outbound related to lost or damaged product
  • Analyze customer orders, drawings, and submittals to determine the type and amount of equipment required for outbound freight
  • Audit and approve freight costs
  • Maintain shipping records and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, and tags
  • Evaluate and determine feasibility to consolidate freight and reduce freight cost
  • Provide information to BAC field representatives on freight quotes, effective and efficient freight logistics
  • Identify and sustain processes to ensure integrity, safe handling, storage, and protection of product within the value stream related to finished goods (If Required)
  • Work with customers on shipping problems such as delivery, damage, claims, etc
  • Assist in maintaining reports showing monthly sales reports, daily shipping lists, and status of unshipped orders
  • Responsible for adhering to Import/Export regulations


  • Work directly with customers on site as required ensuring our customers receive a premium product and business experience
  • Spend time in the factory as necessary to understand product, material flow, and flow of information
  • Provide support to the rest of the Supply Chain team, as needed
  • Collaborate globally with BAC and Amsted Supply Chain teams
  • Train others as appropriate.
