This role reports to the VP of Supply Chain for the Americas division.
What you will be doing
In this strategic role, you will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to coordinate sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing of new and existing electronic and electro-mechanical components, assemblies, engineering services, production line test apparatus to satisfy new product development and manufacturing schedules and cost targets. You will execute thegroup procurement strategies to realize business objectives for electronics and electromechanical product lines. Some of theresponsibilities you can expect to assume are:
Identify, select, and qualify suppliers based on product development strategies and engineering | manufacturing needs within framework of ASSA ABLOY strategic direction.
Evaluate suppliers' capabilities with regard to quality, technology, service, cost competitiveness, capacity, financial strengths, flexibility, and commitment.
Negotiate the best price and terms as well as ongoing expectations. Execute master purchase agreements.
Develop sourcing and overall supply chain strategies for the electronics category.
Manage sourcing projects as project leader, work closely with engineering and manufacturing toensure seamless project implementation.
Develop process to look upstream on product development programs pending requirements and drive Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales in order to ensure sourcing given adequate cycle toprocure material.
Actively participate in the ASSA ABLOY Americas supply chain team.
Work closely with plant purchasing on transferring cost, source information, lead time, and other appropriate information to the production environment.
Facilitate and manage any supplier issues (i.e. cost, quality, delivery, customer service).
Work with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Customers as well as suppliers on identified Value Engineering initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role we believe you need a minimum of 5 years of experience using skills as a seasoned, experienced professional in commodity management and/or management of ContractElectronic Manufacturing (CEM) and related supplier base.
A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position, preferably in Engineering.
In depth knowledge of electrical circuit design process, PCB layout design, component packaging, raw PCB suppliers is essential.

A long-term thinker coupled with the ability to drive short-termoperational objectives is the ideal candidate. We need you to possess strong negotiation skills. We want you to have a willingness to travel up to 15%.
