Do you have current or recent experience managing a small team? This position has 3 to 5 direct reports plus 2 to 3 indirect reports. Do you have current or recent responsibility for the Supply Chain function within a mid-sized manufacturer with multiple locations? Our client currently has 4 manufacturing locations globally – 2 in the US plus 1 in Europe and 1 in China. Do your peers consider your supply chain leadership accomplishments to be strategic and span the entire company? Or, do you have one general strategy that has been applied to multiple situations, maybe companies?

Is your Supply Chain Managerexperience within LEAN and regulated (ISO) organizations? Have you implemented materials strategies that have effectively reduced inventory levels without compromising customers' experiences?

Are you complimented for your abilities to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional groups? Are your interpersonal skills such that you are effective – within a reasonable amount of time, with resistant or obstructive personnel – in pursuit of company goals?

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The impact of the Supply Chain Manager is significant. Here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for purchasing and production control functions related to inventory, including raw material, work in process, and finished goods.
  • Develop purchasing and logistics strategies, policies and procedures to meet business strategies and organizational requirements.
  • Manage purchasing team to ensure the availability of parts through proper sourcing of suppliers with the goal of no shortages for the production schedule.
  • Source potential suppliers to achieve significant and measurable savings.
  • Manage vendor performance goals and measured results collaboratively with the Quality team.
  • Provide accurate status reporting for all materials issues.
  • Implement a material procurement strategy that reduces consolidated inventory on a monthly average.
  • Control material costs through Cost realization and PPV.
  • Review, develop and implement comprehensive strategies covering the Company's 4 facilities.

Education, Experience & Proficiencies

  • Current experience as Supply Chain Manager managing a small group (3 to 5 direct reports plus 2 to 3 indirect reports) managing a high volume of components and large supplier base in a manufacturing company.
  • Commodities buying experiencepreferred.
  • Experience sourcing/purchasing components in a LEAN and ISO environment.
  • BA/BS degree is required; an advanced degree, such as MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Open for occasional travel – probably 1 trip quarterly to each facility (4) plus appropriate supplier site visits.
