Are you a technical leader ready to defend and empower America's most iconic fighter aircraft? The 519th Software Engineering Squadron (519SWES/MXDPB) is seeking a First-Level Supervisor to command the Airfield Systems Flight. In this dual-hatted leadership role, you will stand at the intersection of engineering excellence and national security. You will guide a team that develops the critical simulation and testing tools used by the F-16 and A-10 communities, while simultaneously exercising the managerial authority required to protect those vital assets from espionage, terrorism, and compromise. As a frontline leader, you will exercise comprehensive supervisory responsibility over your team, driving both technical execution and airtight security. You will: - Command and Mentor an Elite Team: Exercise first-level supervisory and position management responsibilities, directing daily work activities, providing continuous technical advice, and fostering a culture of absolute accountability and expertise. - Shield the Mission from Threats: Exercise decisive managerial authority to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and the unauthorized disclosure of classified information vital to the Department of War and national defense. - Deliver Elite OFP Engineering Stations: Oversee the development and delivery of the highest quality software and hardware for Operational Flight Program (OFP) Engineering Stations, the critical platforms used to write aircraft software. - Power Simulation and Analysis: Equip engineers with mission-essential tools, leading the development of OFP emulation, simulation, and data analysis capabilities that are critical for flight software testing. - Directly Support the F-16 & A-10: Guarantee that the engineering communities supporting the F-16 Fighting Falcon and A-10 Thunderbolt II have the secure, state-of-the-art tools they need to keep these legendary platforms lethal and ready. QUALIFICATIONS: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain the necessary security clearance for the position - Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall. Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties. -Designated drug testing position Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of Digital Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR), Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch (ETVS), Digital Legal Audio Recorder (DALR) Flight Data Input Output (FDIO), U/VHF transmitter/receiver radios, U/VHF Antennas , Automated Meteorological System (AMS), Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD), Instrumental Landing Systems (ILS), Tactical Air Navigational beacon (TACAN), Distance Measurement Equipment DME, communication circuits/modems, to provide appropriate support. 2. Knowledge of a wide range of electronic principles and practices, operating parameters, capabilities, and limitations associated with air traffic control and weather radar equipment. 3. Knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and practices. 4. Ability to use computer terminals to enter and extract data to maintain records and documented actions. 5. Ability to inspire, motivate, recognize, mentor, and adapt to a variety of leadership situations, model high standards.
