Full Job Description
The Sanitation Supervisor directly supervises plant sanitation programs and activities to ensure the highest quality and food safety standards.
How you will make contributions that matter....
• Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Supervises and instructs production team members in sanitary and pest-control procedures.
• Supervise and lead cleaning of equipment and work areas as defined by the COP/CIP/SIP schedules.
• Implement and revise all plant master sanitation schedules in accordance with State, Federal Regulations and Company policies.
• Performs inspections of plant premises for unsanitary practices and conditions. Reports and communicate variances and corrective action plans.
• Monitor HACCP as outlined in the IDFA product safety system and ensure that sanitation activities regarding HACCP are performed and documented consistently.
• Ensure that pest control is effective and meets all internal and external requirements.
• Develops reports regarding regular plant and equipment inspections, areas of concern, and corrective action plans to actively resolve deficiencies.
• Actively apply the production run and sanitation schedules and estimates hour requirements for completion of clean-up and sanitation times. Effective coordination with production to ensure COP/CIP and SIP activities are planned and complete.
• Audit and retain all sanitation and pest control records. Follow record keeping guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures that are sanitation related.
• Monitor compliance with GMP's
• Participate as member of the Plant HACCP team and ensure that sanitation issues in regards to HACCP are in compliance.
• Manage Environmental Monitoring Program to ensure that all scheduled environmental swabs are completed and documented and if necessary, corrected and re-tested.
• Monitor Drain Cleaning Program. (pathogen Location program).
• Communicate with chemical supplier in establishing and maintaining the proper chemicals and usage of cleaning agents.
• Support Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) programs and activities.
You are best suited for this role if you...
• Bachelor's degree in a science-based area (ex: Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) of study preferred, or a minimum of 2 years high level plant-based laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience leading and following food quality and safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications. SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage and retain a team of employees.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.

Salary: $71,815 - $92,270
