Responsibilities

  • Monitors the work of a team of Reconciliation Specialists that performs sales audit and bank reconciliation functions for bank and credit card accounts
  • Implements and trains others on a reconciliation tool to compare totals from banks/credit card companies to the general ledger
  • Audits store sales in the Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) Module
  • Researches sales issues in the ReSA system to ensure all data is correct and necessary adjustments are made prior to general ledger posting
  • Partners with internal departments regarding errors, trends, and issue resolution
  • Completes accurate and timely monthly reconciliation and analysis of bank and credit card accounts
  • Manages month-end close procedures for cash and credit accounts
  • Monitors sweeps from individual banks to Corporate Consolidated bank accounts
  • Coordinates with store personnel and customer service to assist with issues regarding sales transactions and credit card purchases
  • Partners with Finance to meet closing scheduledeadlines
  • Assists in various company projects and initiatives
  • Develops, implements, and maintains accounting controls
  • Assists in the unclaimed property process
  • Assists with internal and external audits
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting related experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Credit card processing, sales audit or bankingexperiencepreferred
  • Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position
  • Strong skills in Excel and Word
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated Process Improvement experience
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to see how the team’s responsibilities fit into the broader finance functions
  • Ability to effectively manage a team
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
