This position will oversee and support the HIM, Interfaces and Reporting teams

Job Summary

Epic supervisor is responsible for coordination, status reporting and stability of Epic projects oriented work efforts, establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, adhere to high quality standards and meet assigned expectation. This position develops/defines, publishes, and executes project plans, work plans and schedules with the assistance of key stake holders. The incumbent also identifies needs resources, defines roles and responsibilities, and arranges for assignments of key project participants and serves as an advocate for VHS in all efforts related to the Inova/VHS alliance. In addition, this position will assist with the day to day operations of assigned project teams.

BA/BS in Nursing, Computer Science, Business or clinical related field required for all new hires on or after 1/1/2017

• Minimum of five years of experience with information systems/technology and appropriate applications required • Hospital operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business field required • One year experience with direct responsibility in project leadership or project management required

Certification & Licensures
Active State license for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practice Nurse if applicable Epic certification in at least one application required. Additional Epic certification in any module(s) as specified by the position responsibilities required within 6 months or hire. Current Epic certification must be maintained for all essential certifications per Epic Corporation standards.

• Ability to utilize and effectively communicate technical components of an initiative to applicable key stake holders. • Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists and follow a project plan required. • Competent in Microsoft Office required. • Strong verbal/written communication and follow up skills required. • Technical knowledge of coordinating, configuring and building healthcare IT to drive quality improvement, meaningful use and safety goals required. • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for health system EHR’s required. • Ability to lead and mentor application teams required. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively for content build/project/upgrade as delegated by project manager/director required. • Experience in change management required. • Extensive understanding of build challenges and day to day operations of all build analysts. • Excellent analytical skills.
