Supervisor, Desktop Services
Supervises teams of people responsible for developing and delivering IT solutions for the business and customers; analyzes trends in technology and impact of emerging technologies on the business and provides assessments and solutions to address technology and business issues; assists with managing financial resources of the company while ensuring the development of high-quality, low-cost technology solutions aligned with customer and business needs and establishes relationships with employees and key stakeholders (internal and external)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises the activities and business technology planning for one business process/function of relatively low complexity
Communicates frequently with department management and supervises the implementation of IT initiatives to support business strategy
Contributes to the development of standards and decisions regarding changes to systems/applications and provides technical expertise
Supervises the alignment of information technology planning with the business strategy, which may include analyzing and recommending emerging technologies to department management and interacting with vendors to maximize the value of the business
Provides enabling technologies to improve the performance of a business process and increase revenue and profitability for the business
Supervises information systems activities such as IT infrastructure and architecture, applications development, networks, computer operations, and support for a single product or customer
Supervises the development and delivery of training for IT users to ensure productive use of existing/new systems and high-quality, low-cost services to customers
Education & Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a technical/business area and five years of relevant technical and business experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years of relevant technical and business experience
Minimum of two years in a leadership/senior capacity in a diverse work environment and three years’ work experience in the functional area in one or more business processes
Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver a single IT project on time and within budget
