PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Corporate Benefits Manager, accountabilities include but are not limited to, the following:


1. Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Workers Compensation, OSHA, etc.).

  • Serve as subject matter expert to associates, HRCC's and management regarding all absence management, ADA and applicable state leave laws.
  • Supervise a team of 2-3 benefits analysts who manage the day to day leave administration within the organization.
  • Partners closely with all HRCC's on leave cases, when applicable. Meets regularly with HRCC's to review claims' status and develops strategies for resolution.
  • Partners with Legal, when necessary, on escalated leave cases.
  • Oversee all communications regarding education and training for managers and associates regarding absence management. Ensure company policies and content are up to date and, if necessary, work with internal communications and legal to bring up to date.
  • Oversees annual company filing of OSHA Forms and partners with Workers Comp Vendor and IT to ensure data is represented accurately.


2. Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases. Presents reports as requested to all levels of the organization, including leadership team.



3. Manages 3rd party administrator to ensure compliance, accuracy and integrity of data. Frequently meets with 3rd party administrator to ensure company needs are being met.



4. Proactively recommends solutions to re-engineer or improve processes within our company policies, the 3rd party administrator and Peoplesoft.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises 2 - 3 employees, both exempt and non-exempt.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field, or equivalent, and 5 - 8 years of absence management experience.


Abilities/Skills: Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills to effectively develop business team relationships with clients, co-workers, and the staff; working knowledge of leave laws, principles, practices, methods and procedures. Also needed are good analytical skills, experience working with 3rd party administrators for disability management and FMLA tracking. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.


Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.


Preferred: Prior supervisory/managerial experience.
