Position SummaryThe Stroke Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the stroke program ensuring on-going quality of care delivered to the stroke patient from admission through patient disposition. Executes PI initiatives in order to promote optimal stroke care. Provides assistance to staff conducting stroke alert overseeing quality measures. Monitors all patient care documentation to include ED documentation (including ED nurses notes, ED order sets or pathway documentation, ED physician notes, ED record, ED triage sheet, Registration form, ED vital signs graphical record).Ensures an active community education program exists. Responsible for compliance with regulatory agency and national standards for stroke care.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Licensed as a professional Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or eligibility. Current BLS; ACLS.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
