The Marketing Strategist is responsible for understanding the competitive market and needs of customers for all aspects of marketing; to include but not limited to: develop and implement marketing plans, promotions, pricing, collateral, digital media, web presence, marketing events, and other related areas. Assigned areas of focus include but are not limited to; Channel Campaigns, Digital Support, Training and Sales Enablement, Communication or Digital Marketing Analytics.
The role applies diverse skills to connect digital to all other aspects of the business and help drive growth opportunities. Provides guidance and works with the internal team to achieve brand and business objectives.
Develop strong, trusting relationships with coworkers and strategic partners, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution
Proactively keep abreast of marketing and media plans, and provide digital solutions including email campaigns, website optimization, social media tactics, etc.
Develop a total understanding of online target audience and mindset
Identify business objectives and advise on suitable measurement strategies
Benchmark performance across all online channels
Report on key metrics, analyzing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights
Perform ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns
Provide web content editing support using a content management system
Provide social media marketing support
Provide graphic design support
Essential Duties of the Marketing Strategist
Participate/ lead product and service launches from development through maintenance.
Distribute, communicate and ensure pricing information is correct in the system and price tables.
Develop & manage product information & implementation of plans, programs and on-line web presence.
Create content for product promotions and all marketing collateral and product launches
Internal resource for front line staff inquiries and implementation.
Manage and implement sponsorships, trade agreements, special events and VIP customer fulfillment.
Develop new &maintain current business relationships
Develop and implement effective marketing materials (letters, email, web, direct mail, and social media) designed to showcase Company products & services.
Assist with external trade and media partners with on-site training, product demonstrations, as well as product and service education.
Work in partnership with departments on products, services, merchandising and collateral in stores.

Responsible to develop and implement marketing plans, promotions, incentive’s to achieve maximum growth and retention. Working collaboratively within the company developing and communicating process required to sell and service customers. Position will be responsible to develop products, services, tactical plans and programs. In addition to necessary training and developmental opportunities for sales and customer support with an emphasis on achieving customer growth, retention and market share.
Physical Requirements: Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing , walking, pushing, pulling,lifting ,fingering, grasping , talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. Position is fast-paced and subject to rapidly changing priorities,multiple deadlines and some stressful customer interactions. Travel to the rural markets and the retail stores will be required. Also, the ability to work high profile conferences & events.
The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be required to provide emergency after hours contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
Must have a minimum of four years in marketing, public relations, advertising, sales, combined, or similar environment to include:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, community/public relations, business administration or related field required. In addition to minimum experience required, degree may be substituted with relevant exempt work on a year for year basis.
Certifications: Industry specific certifications highly valued and may contribute toward education requirement.
Driving Requirements (if applicable): Position requires occasional travel to other Company locations. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a satisfactory driving record.
