As the Strategic Sourcing Manager you will strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization. Commodity Management and Category Sourcing are two key drivers. This position reports to the Supply Chain Director.

 

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following: 

  • Manage and mentor a dynamic team of procurement professionals
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities
  • Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed, issued, tracked and reported as required for supply base management and improvement
  • Negotiate and execute supplier contracts as needed to support the critical business needs
  • Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization
  • Provide Executive Management with commodity cost guidance for fiscal year planning and budgeting
  • Lead a procurement organization within the scope of the strategic sourcing process to drive cost out of the supply chain
  • Manage all activities that develop relationships with suppliers
  • Develop an overall supplier base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies
  • Develop and execute short and long term strategic procurement vision with the ability to gain exec. Team support through data analytics, global and regional risk assessments. Stay current with best procurement practices such as PTP, EDI, etc.

  • Efficient enterprise-wide end-to-end systems
  • Ability to create strategic sourcing tool kit
  • Ability to create tool box policies/practices for management use
  • Experience conducting environmental /industry/regulatory scans for internal functional impact
  • Risk understanding outside personal S/C pillar (ex - trade compliance)
  • Ability to set plans vs. breakthrough deliverables in relation to strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated visionary. Have master plan for the dept. to grow for next 3-5years
  • Efficient International business acumen is a plus. (Thrive in diverse cultural settings)
  • Experience integrating strategic business planning

RequiredQualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience purchasing mgmt.
  • 5+ years of project mgmt. experience in a manufacturing environment; heavy industrial is a plus.
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing
  • 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Direct report has been promoted
  • Documented organizational changes that have required managerial courage
  • Multi-faceted strategic contact experience with (country, marketing, new products, distribution)
  • Sequential multi-business / plant / industry experience
  • 10+ years relevant S/C work experience
  • Successfully managed10,000+ SKUs (planning) or similar
  • Successfully managed $300M in purchased parts with 300+ suppliers (purchasing) or similar

Education:

  • Bachelor?s Degree, business, supply chain, logistics, or engineering
  • Master?s degree in above discipline OR combination of the equivalent certifications + experience: CSCMP (CSCP) / APICS (CFPIM)

 

DesiredQualifications:

  • PMP
  • 2+ successful extended (outside ?four walls?) Lean Value Stream transformations in a manufacturing or value-add environment (conflict resolution, mediation)
