The SAE Manager's primary mission is to develop and lead cross-functional teams, whereby we programmatically identify, analyze, prioritize, strategize and project-manage campaigns in order to win new partners, develop existing partners, and establish and manage cross-company frameworks for working with such partners.  

The SAE Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of alliances with Technology Partners (i.e., partners offering technologies that we validate or integrate with and include in or with our offerings, as well as products and technologies that we qualify or certify vis-à-vis our own) and will collaborate with relevant Go To Market partners (e.g., Solution Provider (sell-through), OEM (in/out), Global System Integrators, and Technology Partners (sell-with).

The Strategic Alliance Ecosystem Manager will:

  • Collaboratively establish and execute the SDCG strategic alliance strategy for ecosystem partnerships and supporting programs that directly contribute to the attainment of SDCG business intentions and objectives
  • Identify, prioritize and leadcampaigns to win, onboard, and build new strategic alliance ecosystem partnerships
  • Drive decision-making efforts with regard to SDCG strategic alliances in a timely and effective manner through clear and collaborative data-driven processes
  • Effectively and programmatically manage a portfolio of alliance partnerships through all applicable life cycle stages in collaboration with worldwide alliance and other pan-HPE alliance teams
  • Evangelize the value-proposition and competitive differentiation of SDCG offerings to multiple organizational levels (including Executives) of our target ecosystem partners
  • Gather information about prospective strategic partners as a means for establishing a sound strategy and related tactics for SDCG alliances
  • Influence the development and deployment of strategic partners’ product offerings using SDCG technologies
  • Work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative manner with product, marketing, sales, channels, services, and other alliance teams to operationalize partnerships in the attainment of their strategic intentions and objectives
  • Programmatically orchestrate SDCG resources in support of the strategic intentions and objectives of our ecosystem alliances, driving accountability, execution, and visibility of all programs
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of SDCG products and product road maps, as well as that of the competition and prospective strategic partners


  • Bachelor's Degreerequired

  • MBA or equivalent business management experience strongly desired

  • ASAP CA-AM or CSAP certification strongly desired

Required Attributes

  • A minimum of ten years of related industry strategic alliance professional experience

  • Disciplined cross-functional program management experience

  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle and related processes

  • Has led and coordinated activities of multiple, complex teams with broad assignments and very significant business impact

  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate effectively with program managers, engineers and technical personnel, operations personnel, suppliers and vendors

  • Ability to manage multiple, pressing projects at one time

  • Ability to drive and conclude decision-making processes, particularly in regard to strategic decisions, and document results in a clear and indisputable manner

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

  • Effective at operating and communicating in both in-person and remote scenarios with appropriate planning and execution

  • Excellent reliability, dependability, and trustworthiness

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, data analytics software and field facing software data aggregation systems

  • Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the time, and occasionally more, in any given month

  • Industry knowledge of relevant technologies and markets such as computing/servers, data storage, networking, virtualization, containers, hyperconvergence, public and private cloud, etc.

  • Proficient in Program Management tools and the ability to apply them effectively in reaching program objectives through accountability, execution, and visibility

  • Familiarity with data analytics tools for industry and market analysis.
