The individual selected for this position will be responsible for the total operation of their Meijer store. The individual will ensure remarkable customer service and financial stability through the core functions of the retail operation as well as maintaining all operational and merchandising standards. The individual will develop a team that consistently meets goals for productivity and customer service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering on Brand Promises through team execution; i.e. "Provide an easy shopping experience for our customers"
  • Delivering exceptional, fast and friendly customer service
  • Ensuring the daily, weekly, and period production goals are met by team members
  • Ensuring daily, weekly and period sales goals are met
  • Ensuring the Foods and General Merchandise departments are stocked and merchandised to Meijer standards
  • Mentoring and coaching Team Leaders and Team Members to ensure production goals and in-stock goals are met or exceeded
  • Promoting succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for the Team Leaders
  • Ensuring store team is properly staffed and thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required training curriculums
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with both internal and external customers
  • There is a 48 hours (exempt) pay base for this position
  • Other daily tasks as required


  • Bachelors degree or equivalent retailexperiencerequired
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail; prefer grocery/supercenter experience
  • Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience
  • Open to relocation in West/Northern Michigan markets
  • Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and create a culture of compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and achieve sales and production goals

  • Ability to work with team to deliver a fast and friendly customer service experience to our customer
