We are seeking a highly talented systems software architect who can bring software development experience, passion and creative thinking to deliver industry-leading storage architectures. The successful candidate must have the ability to think out of the box to deliver storage software, algorithms and techniques optimized for Intel silicon, network, memory and storage technologies.
You will be part of the Data Center System Storage Architecture and Pathfinding team, which is responsible for exploring, defining and prototyping best of breed storage architectures.
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, has a broad, system-level understanding of storage, file system, Linux kernel, I/O technology, and has experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise and cloud storage software.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, with minimum of 9+ years of system software development experience in storage and networking, including developing & deploying storage solutions.
System level software experience
Software development experience in C/C++ and/or other high-level languages
Understanding of Linux architecture (Kernel, userspace, and virtualization), IO subsystem
Experience with Xeon platforms, network and storage devices (SSD, HDD).
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the different datacenter and cloud architectures (e.g. hyperconverged, tiered) and existing storage solutions (e.g. Ceph, vSAN, Nutanix, Azure Stack, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud storage - object (S3, Swift), block, file, etc.
Experience in working with customers to understand and develop solutions to their problems
Experience with FPGA for algorithm acceleration, and/or other software offloads
Experience with DPDK, SPDK
Experience in working with hardware teams to solve storage problems through architectural enhancements to silicon
Software System Architecture experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Intel Processors, FPGA & NICs within a data center context.
Familiarity with various communications protocols like Ethernet, IP, RDMA
Familiarity with NVMe, NVMeoF
Familiarity with OpenStack and Open Daylight is a plus.
