ETS Psychometrics, Statistics, and Data Sciences (PSDS) has openings for a statistical data analyst at the junior through senior-level in the Psychometric Analysis and Research (PAR) unit in our Princeton, NJ offices. These positions offer exciting opportunities for performing activities that support the statistical operations and data processing for our testing programs.

Experience and Skills

REQUIREMENTS FOR A JUNIOR LEVEL POSITION

A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology or a closely related field is required. Six months of experience performing data analysis using statistical computing environments and tools (e.g. SAS, R, SPSS, and Python) is required. Coursework in statistics and computer sciences is highly desirable. Experience with Microsoft Word sufficient to create text and tables for memos and reports is required. Experience with Microsoft Excel in performing basic data entry, efficiently organizing data and information, and analyzing and displaying data is required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A MID-LEVEL POSITION

A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology or a closely related field is required. Two or more years of experience in managing and coordinating statistical analysis and data processing operations and in performing data analysis by utilizing various types of statistical software packages or programming languages (e.g. SAS, SPSS or R) is required. Basic or intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word sufficient to create text and tables for memos and reports is required. Basic or intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel in performing basic data entry, creating and utilizing formulas, efficiently organizing data and information, and analyzing and displaying data is required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SENIOR-LEVEL POSITION

A Master’s degree or equivalent years of experience in Educational Measurement, Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology or a closely related field is required. Four or more years of experience in managing and coordinating statistical analysis and data processing operations and in performing data analysis by utilizing various types of statistical software packages or programming languages (e.g. SAS, SPSS or R) is required. Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word sufficient to create text and tables for memos and reports is required. Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel in performing data entry, creating and utilizing formulas, efficiently organizing data and information and analyzing and displaying data is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are required at all job levels:

  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and data process tasks using ETS propriety software, Excel, and statistical software packages (e.g. SAS). Perform a wide variety of statistical calculations.

  • Ability to prepare, modify and validate critical components of statistical procedures and reports, score reporting and technical documentation.

  • Able to participate in activities to proactively work toward short cycle time and reduced costs, greater customer satisfaction, and quality maintenance.

  • Exercise sound judgment and when performing quality control on statistical files, analysis results and reports.

  • Able to implement technical documentation of data analysis processes, solutions and results to achieve 100% quality in all work products.

  • In compliance with ISO 9001 standards, help to maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and procedures within our Quality Management System.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to strict deadlines even in light of unexpected challenges and schedule changes.

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow appropriate safeguards for test information including answer keys and test design as well as test takers personal information and test performance.
