Manage the sale of West Bend's product lines through independent agents in Minnesota, while continuing to amange an assigned territory to drive profitable growth to the company. Prepare the sales and profit goals and assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans for the state. Conduct training for Regional Sales Managers. Supervise and conduct agency meetings and seminars. Assist with conducting AAB meetings. Develop specific annual goals for each agency. Develop and maintain short and long-range plans that support corporate objectives. Oversee agents in an assigned region. Train new agents in West Bend's product lines and company philosophies. Negotiate new and renewal business directly with Agent or Underwriter. Conduct agency performance evaluation. Monitor Partners in Excellence programs. Monitor and maintain quality of agency force; prospecting new agents and terminating unprofitable or low volume producing agencies. Introduce new products to agencies and encourage their sale. Assist the accounting department in collection of overdue agency accounts and loans. Responsible for the selection and training of personnel and the initiation of personnel actions such as performance, promotions, etc.
Preferred Experience and Skills
7 years experience as a Regional Sales Manager in the property/casualty insurance industry
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of the property/casualty insurance industry
Valid driver's license
Proven manageability of agency management
Preferred Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance or related field
Completion of Program in General Insurance
CPCU, CIC and other insurance designations
Valid driver's license.
