As State and Local Tax Manager, based in Watsonville CA, you will be responsible for using independent discretion and knowledge in overseeing the preparation of sales, use and property tax returns and schedules, or other tax documents, to ensure accurate tax reporting or tax planning. The ability toresearch and educate others is key to this role. Duties and work experience will include the following:
• Manage sales and use tax staff working on a variety of tax returns and projects.
• Assist with the management of sales and use tax audits. Evaluate potential tax exposure, develop and implement audit strategies and maintain successful auditor relationships. Provide timely communication of audit results to management.
• Manage tax responsibilities for all mergers and acquisitions. Partner with M&A and other internal teamson review of due diligence work for sales and use tax matters.
• Participate in special tax projects as needed.
