As a Cloud Foundation System Engineer, you will understand the job duties and role for Pre-Sales as well as Post-Sales. You will be customer facing, first calls, meetings, presentations, PoC's, documentation, demos, and installs. You would help accelerate the sales cycle, remove obstacles, and be the technical guide in the room. You will need to whiteboard, demo, present technical material, qualify, and quantify sales opportunities. This role require full understanding of base VMware technologies – vSphere, VSAN, NSX. You would also have deep understanding of Enterprise Data center operations – SAN, physical networking & NOC tools used to monitor large DCs (ex, EMC/NetApp/Hitachi SANs, Cisco UCS, HP servers, SNMP, OSS tools). You should have understanding of concepts around SDDC and the consumption of services via API (ex. vRA or OpenStack). Lastly, you should be able to quickly adapt to varying customer requirements in terms of how Cloud Foundation would be operationalize given the complexity of DC’s. Knowledge of competition – Nutanix, Simplivity, HP HCI.

Pre-Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field salesforce. Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and leading the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer is able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer happiness through all stages of the sales process. You would need to establish and maintain positive relationships throughout the cycle.

This role will be primarily focused on Field and Channel Enablement, PoC, Hands on Lab, Sales Demo Environment, Documentation, Training and Events. This role is for a Pre-sales Engineer that is very hands on and technical. Someone has excellent communication and presentations skills, personal skills, and the ability to speak to crowds at all levels. Additional responsibilities will be in mentoring and enabling Field and Channel located in a variety of locations. Travel will be at least 80%, please do not apply if you have travel restrictions.
