As Staff Product Engineer, you will work closely with multiple teams across the company, including the marketing, IC design and systems teams to help usher our chips through the entire design cycle from conception to product release. In this role, you will make sure that each product is characterized, passes qualification testing, has all production testing in place and is properly documented for release to production. With a dedication to seeing quality products in mass production, your skills and expertise will help to ensure that our chips are ready for the marketplace. This position is located in our San Jose, CA office.e.
Support all aspects of IC production for multiple products concurrently.
Create schedules and manage activities for production release with a Zero-Defect Strategy.
Ensure that released products comply with the data sheet .
Work with the chip design team to prepare for first silicon bring-up and characterization.
Assist design and test engineers in development and optimization of ATE test programs.
Support characterization activities with chip measurements, data analysis and presentation of results to the operations and engineering teams.
Manage migration of silicon test programs to overseas facilities.
Work with packaging vendors and foundries to support IC production efforts.
Manage qualification efforts of IC products including HTOL, ESD/LU testing.
Write necessary documentation such as characterization and qualification reports, traceability matrices, errata sheets, statistical analysis reports as needed.
Assist with RMA activities through debug, data collection, and analysis.
Monitor manufacturing data for silicon to ensure product quality and address any fabrication issues with the foundry.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Education
MSEE or higher with a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
8+ years as a product engineer supporting IC products.
Managed release of multiple chips to production.
Experience with high speed analog or mixed signal products.
Oversaw transfer of IC test programs to overseas facilities.
Successful track record launching and supporting IC chips in production.
Work Habits, Skills and Knowledge
Familiarity with basic circuit and silicon device physics concepts.
Expertise using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNA’s, spectrum analyzers and functions generators to perform measurements on chips in the lab.
Familiarity with ATE equipment and major IC testing platforms such as the Teledyne Ultraflex or Advantest VR9300 series testers.
Proven experience in optimizing ATE test programs to meet and exceed yield targets.
Experience in working with the design team to implement DFM, DFT and DFS in products.
Aware of relevant JEDEC qualification standards related to ESD, latch-up and HTOL.
Good understanding of principles of statistical analysis.
Ability to creatively solve problems encountered in debug of qualification failures, RMA investigations and test program development.
Strong verbal communication skills for working with other teams, suppliers and customers.
Strong written communication skills for writing various reports and other documents.
Flexible personality to adjust to changing priorities.
