Position Summary:

We are looking for a Staff Marketing Programs Manager responsible for advancing the use of next generation sequencing (NGS) and microarrays in Clinical Genomics including Reproductive Genetic Health, Genetic Disease testing and Healthcare Systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical expertise in molecular biology and life science tools, along with professional and/or educational experience in genomics. Candidates should have strong experience in omni-channel and integrated marketing communications (60:40 marketing: science) and demonstrate experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute meaningful and measurable regional omni-channel marketing plans in conjunction with global and regional segment marketing to drive pipeline acceleration and impact near-term revenue
  • Interpret market data and input from field marketing team to collectively leverage this data into marketing programs/action plans
  • Perform segmentation of markets based on a variety of customer-centric criteria, and meaningful positioning/messaging of Illumina’s products to the various segments
  • Collaborate with global and regional segment marketing teams to ensure alignment and streamlined customer communication plans across all segments
  • Manage the concurrent execution of a variety of marketing tactics within a given program, and ensure linkage of tactics to overall segment strategy
  • Effective identification and use of various marketing channels to achieve desired response within a market segment
  • Continually evaluate new communication vehicles and collaborate with global marketing to drive best in class practices
  • Participate in quarterly and annual planning and review cycles
  • Some domestic travel will be required

Requirements

  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in marketing, marketing communications and/or product marketing
  • Proven track record and experience in leading campaign development and execution
  • Sales experience highly desirable
  • Research experience in a life science discipline desirable, genomics or hands-on sequencing experience highly desirable

Education

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a life science discipline required
  • MBA or other related degree in business, marketing, communications highly desirable
