Zurich North America is currently seeking a Staff Legal Administrative Manager to work out of our office in Overland Park, Kansas.

 

As part of our management team, your primary accountability will be the supervision of approximately 10+ legal secretaries.  This includes interviewing and selecting new hires; conducting performance appraisals; making salary decisions; training, development and ongoing coaching.  Additionally, you will oversee and manage the workload to ensure the productivity, high quality, best practices and standards of excellence in work product from the team.

  

You will also have regular interaction with Managing Attorneys and Trial Attorneys across various state office locations and multiple jurisdictions acting as a liaison and ambassador of the Staff Legal Administrative team to provide assistance, troubleshoot reported issues or concerns, and consider any feedback provided for process efficiencies or other areas of opportunity.

 

Additional accountabilities will include: 

  • Drive compliance with Operations Best Practices and/or other complex administrative procedures across areas of responsibility, ensuring compliance with internal business controls
  • Establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the staff
  • Examine workflow and processes as needed to promote operational excellenceand ensure seamless coverage and support for the operation
  • Planning for future staffing needs
  • Track performance, and conduct quality assurance/control on work product of direct reports
  • Maintain records and confidential files  in accordance with published corporate protocol
  • Perform data analysis

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Leadership, Management, Supervisor or Training area
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 5 or more years of experience in the Leadership, Management, Supervisor OR Training area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 5 or more years of experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Leadership, Management, Supervisor, Training area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of  experience in the Claims, Legal or Administrative area
