Semtech is an organization headquartered in Camarillo, California with 31 offices in 14 countries around the world.  We pride ourselves of being big enough to have global reach yet a size where individuals can influence and make an impact through great performance and innovation.   We are presently seeking multiple STAFF/ENGINEER ICDESIGNERS to be located in our Burlington, Ontario office.  This role is a great opportunity to work with a world class IC development team, developing clock-data-recovery, equalizer, transimpedance amplifier, and laserdriver integratedcircuits operating from 100MHz to 30GHz+.Reporting to the SeniorDesign Manager, a Staff/Engineer ICDesign engineer will supplement our existing team by taking block lead role in the development of high speed ICcircuit, from initial concept through to full integration into product and ongoing support of related features for volume production. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design of high speed IC circuits and layout
  • System modeling
  • Responsibility for delivering high performance circuit block designs
  • Assessing block design feasibility and schedule
  • Preparing block technical reviews and block documentation
  •  
  • Working effectively with cross functional teams (marketing, sales, applications, product/test engineering) to deliver IC Products
  • Timely production and delivery of IC circuitdesigns to specification, technical reviews and product  documentation
  • Effective working relationships developed and maintained at all times with senior designers and engineers

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BSc degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering with focused IC design content (Masters degreepreferred, PhD welcomed)
  • 2 to 6 years of experience in IC circuitdesign, preferably for optical and/or wireline applications
  • Robust foundation of analogcircuit theory, transmission lines and device fundamentals
  • Experience of designing in SiGe BiCMOS and/or CMOS
  • Experience in high fidelity or high speed (10’sGHz) designs: VCO, PLL, GA, Equalizers, Drivers
  • Proven drive for results with contributions to high performance, high speed IC designs from concept through to technology with a successful academic or preferably commercial outcome
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good appreciation of the impact of IC layout on circuit performance and circuitdesign
  • Experienced in Cadence IC design flow and tools
  • Preferredexperience of  HFSS, ADS and microwave modeling
  • Ability to interpret lab verification results to support applications and device characterization
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
