Description Burns & McDonnell's Water Practice in Denver, CO, is in search of a Staff Environmental Engineers for its growing Water Practice. Founded in 1898, Burns & McDonnell is a 100% employee-owned firm.
Candidate will be responsible for understanding, applying, designing, and constructing conventional and advanced water/wastewater treatment technologies for both industrial and municipal clients. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for process piping design, hydraulic profile development, process equipment selection, specification and drawing development, and construction administration for water/wastewater projects. Additional duties include identifying and obtaining projects, contributing to the technical growth of the group, staff mentoring, inter-discipline coordination, developing budgets and schedules, client development, and client maintenance.
Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods. May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. May assess feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor of Science in Environmental or Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Or Bachelor of Science in Environmental or Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
- 3 years of environmental engineering experience, consulting preferred.
- Successful completion (i.e.passing) FE or EIT preferred.
- Strong knowledge in standard environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, and environmental analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Compensation Range
$95,000 - $145,000
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
