Description Leidos Defense Group is seeking a
Sr. Windows Systems Administrator Technical Lead in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at
Ft Meade, MD. DISA acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD), and national security organizations. The candidate will be a senior team member managing Tier III support for a major DISA program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Directly report to Tier III Technical Lead on all technical concerns
- Assisting in hiring processes for multiple labor categories as required
- Coach and reviewing the work of lower-level Windows Admin technical staff.
- Analyze System Administration for a robust lab used to test, implement, research, and develop solutions that will be provided to remote Tier II partners for implementation in the production environment.
- Author detailed implementation plans for successful completion by Tier II personnel.
- Provide effective technical expertise to sustain a mostly virtual lab environment.
- Analyze and supportfor ticket escalation on major outages.
- Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times.
- Provide strategic input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements.
- Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed.
- Interact with Tier II support and evaluate vendor products.
- Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
- Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
- Support M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for occasional on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree and/or 12+ years of overall related experience with a Windows server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Extensive Windows experience
- Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI applications
- Extensive understanding of DoD security requirement and application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
- Understand networking operations supporting Lab environments
- Currently possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret is required for this position.
- Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or other VCP End-User Computing Track course/certifications
- Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.
- Candidates with knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
- Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, ITSM+, etc...
- ITIL v3 Foundation certified

Pay Range:Pay Range $105,300.00 - $190,350.00
