Welding Engineer, Skill areas of welding engineering, metallurgy and material science. Report to Director of Engineering. Responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing plans and processes for new programs, and support of current manufacturing programs to achieve cost reductions, improved quality and an efficient delivery schedules. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare specifications of production operations and write work instructions. Prepare technical data and writing procedural instructions for welding processes and projects. Training of departmental staff. Prepare inspection summary sheets. Interface effectively with customers in the resolution of production concerns or other issues related to producibility, cost and schedule.
Requirements: Broad Knowledge and expertise of all welding processes, welding equipment, metallurgy or material science. ASME Section VIII. Fluent oral and written communication skills as well as good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation application software needed. Familiarity with MRP systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and bills of material necessary. Bachelor's degree in Welding or a related engineering discipline required.
