Spectra7 seeks a Senior IC Test Engineer to build out the test development at Spectra7 and develop high volume, scalable production test solutions. The individual in this position will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of defining and implementing new production test methodologies for our upcoming IC products. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge in Digital, Analog, Mixed-Signal, and experience in High-Speed test methodology and programming.
This position is responsible for collaborating with the R&D team and performing in the areas of Testability, Design for Test and new product validation. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Participate in new product design meetings and driving analog/digital DFT techniques in new designs.
Develop and implement test solutions for new products including software, hardware and documentation.
Actively participate in the product development throughout the NPI cycle focusing on DFT and testability.
Test Solution Qualification and Characterization over process, voltage, and temperature.
Establish, develop and maintain technical and business relationships with 3rd party laboratories in US and Asia.
Production Release of Test HW and SW to offshore manufacturing with ongoing support for the project assigned.
Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with designers, product, validation, and applications engineers.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Education
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Will consider equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience in working with high-speed, mixed-signal testers (preferably Teradyne Flex, UltraFlex, or Agilent 93K).
Experience testing 6+ Gbaud line rates.
Excellent programming background (C, C++, Visual Basic, Perl).
Experience in bring up and support of offshore test locations.
Experience in Wafer probe test development (single-site and multi-site).
Hardware design and signal integrity experience; ability to perform PCB design reviews preferred.
Experience operating and clear understanding of JBERTs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multi-meters, etc.
Experience working with ICs containing equalizers.
Experience balancing test time vs. test coverage tradeoffs.
Work Habits, Skills, and Knowledge:
Mixed-signal and high-speed test knowledge required.
Knowledgeable in signal integrity metrics, e.g. eye diagrams, jitter, return loss, s-parameters, TDR/TDT, etc.
Knowledge of DFT, DSP, Analog Test Methodology, Unix and Windows.
Strong understanding of Semiconductor and electronics fundamentals.
Strong understanding of PHY analyses such as eye diagrams, jitter histograms, bathtub curves, RX jitter tolerance, s-parameter measurements, etc.
In-depth understanding of hardware test methodologies and procedures.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Understand the contributors to cost and design cost effective test solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced global team environment with other technical teams.
