Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, high energy and passionate Sr. Systems Engineer to join our Release Engineering Team. This team serves as a foundation for all application infrastructure design, deployments and tools of Edelman Financial Engines enterprise systems. The Systems Engineer will be a senior contributor to operations projects with a particular focus on IaaS platforms. Successful candidates will be well organized, excel both independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision. Responsibilities:

Windows and Linux systems administration through automation
AWS infrastructure code platforms such as terraform and cloudformation, to support critical business projects and established systems
Support infrastructure and application services through tools like Git, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins
Maintain system configuration runbooks and execute DR testing
Utilize Splunk Data, Dashboards, reports to investigate system and configuration issues
Maintain customer obsessed culture by taking ownership of issues and providing quality solutions quickly

Requirements:

Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Comfortable in an environment with flexible work, 24/7 availability, and on-call rotation
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such Terraform, cloudformation
Experience programming in Groovy, Python, Java, Powershell or Shell
B.S. in Engineering related field or 4+ years working on an operations team or consulting
Experience with configuration management automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible a plus
Working knowledge of common web technologies such as Java/Tomcat/Apache, etc a plus
AWS SysOps or DevOps level understanding or experience building on Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, VPC, KMS, etc) a plus
