Sr. Systems Administrator

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team! The ideal candidate will assist with infrastructure planning, maintenance and troubleshooting. This position is responsible for keeping enterprise hardware and operating systems current by performing routine updates, security administration and completing all necessary diagnostics.

Job Functions:

  • Working in a high paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Install, configure and maintain Microsoft (MS) Windows Operating Systems networks, custom applications, and peripherals
  • Ensure system stability, scalability, security and performance requirements
  • Diagnose, solve and deliver root cause analysis for infrastructure issues
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level problems with physical and virtual servers, laptops, workstations and applications.
  • Implement and maintain security controls on all corporate systems
  • Assist System Architects with design and implementation of core MS Windows infrastructure components
  • Assist with audit compliance mandates
  • Manage problem escalation and communicate with senior management as necessary
  • Provide guidance to System Administrator I and System Administrator II individuals on process improvements, standardization efforts, technology deployment and strategic and tactical implementations
  • Handle system performance tuning, monitoring, and maintain fault tolerance
  • Proactive monitoring of system performance (e.g. uptime, failover, anti-viral, etc.).
  • Participate in an on-call rotation that provides 24x7x365 coverage of mission critical systems
  • Assist our Systems Architect’s with planning for and designing COCC’s infrastructure
  • Respond to ticket requests submitted by employees
  • Respond to emails submitted by employees
  • Obtain fixes from vendors and install according to established procedures
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly health checks of the Server Infrastructure
  • Maintain appropriate user access to systems to meet company needs
  • Deploy and decommission systems per corporate standards
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery testing
  • Stay abreast of current technology trends and the impact to the internal infrastructure
  • Document system and application setups/deployments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related experience
  • Five to seven years of hands-on Corporate IT/Network Support experience with solid technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Proficient knowledge of user access control, patching and networking stacks
  • Demonstrated experiencesupporting workstations, laptops, Windows servers and other IT infrastructure in a mission critical 24/7 enterprise environment
  • Certification(s) such as MCSA, MCSE , VCP-DCV or VCP-DTM required
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (ex: Server 2012/R2,2016,Windows 10, etc) required
  • Extensive experience with ADDS, GPOs, DHCP, DFS-R, DNS and a multi-Domain/Forest environment required
  • Extensive experience working in a heavily Virtualized environment using VMware vSphere required
  • Extensive experience packaging software for distribution to corporate PCs/Servers required
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell scriptingrequired
  • Experience managing an Exchange Server 2013/2016 environment using DAGs required
  • Experience managing a VMware View/Horizon View environment preferred
  • Experience managing a UCS blade environment preferred
  • Experience managing a Veritas Email Archiving environment preferred
  • Experience with automation products such as Ivanti LanDesk Manager preferred
  • Experience managing user profiles preferred (ex: appsense)
  • Experience managing SolarWinds Orion preferred
