Sr. Systems Administrator


About the role

Intermedia is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator to join our IT team. Our IT team provides support to all Intermedia employees and contractors. We handle a wide range of issues acrossmultiple office locations, including hardware, software, and systems management and maintenance.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Upkeep and maintenance of all corporate servers
  • Design, plan, and implement all changes and new deployments to the corporate systems
  • Project Management of cross-functional team projects
  • Maintain current inventory/asset levels of all corporate assets
  • Capacity planning for growth of the corporate domain and servers
  • Establish guidelines and methods for the installation and management of corporate systems (imaging systems, updating the OS, software updates, etc.)
  • Escalation point and mentoring for Desktop Support for any hardware, software, or other issues
  • Drive automation efforts and develop tools to increase efficiency of onboarding a new employee, off boarding employees, and daily maintenance tasks
  • Development of tools, procedures, and training for all corporate users
  • Responsible for the security and auditing of all corporate systems and accounts
  • Work alongside the IT Management team to develop ways to streamline support for end users and enhance automation of deployment of equipment
  • Available after-hours and "on call" for emergency issues

Required Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS's and Applications (Exchange, Skype for Business, Active Directory, WSUS, SCCM, O365, SQL)
  • Strong knowledge of at least one imaging/automation tool (such as MDT)
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization, and VDI a plus (VMWare Horizon View)
  • Strong scripting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in a way that maximizes client value

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix/Mac OSX
  • Knowledge of SIP/VOIP


You will interact with users from other departments and within all management levels. You will also engage support from our vendors when resolving issues with hardware or software applications. You will also work closely within the team with all team members. You will also work closely with other teams as a member or leader on cross functional projects.

Years of Experience & Educational requirements:


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


7 years' experience in Systems Administration. Background in Desktop Support or other Customer Service orientated position a plus.
