Job Description
WSP’s Water and Environment practice has an immediate opening in its Orlando, Florida office for a Senior Supervising Water Resources Engineer or Senior Supervising Geologisttosupport its water resources practice. We are looking for an enthusiastic technical expert with strong analytical and modeling skills who will beresponsible for the technical oversight of water resource projects involving planning, permitting, design andconstruction. The ideal candidate will have diverseexperience in Florida water resources, including technical emphasis on managing groundwater supply and hydrogeologicinvestigations; surface water supply and natural systems management with minimum flows and levels and other regulatory constraints; aquifer recharge,land application, rapid infiltration basin and ASR systems; groundwater flow and transport modeling and analysis; and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and analysis. The successful candidate will beresponsible for managing projects, mentoring junior and mid-level staff, maintaining client relationships, assisting with business development, and workingcooperatively and proactively with other disciplines within the company. Candidates with certification in specialty areas or continuing education in advanced design or modeling methodologies should provide that information. Position Description:

  • Develop and oversee analyses for water resources, water supply and natural systems projects including studies, permitting, conceptual designs, final design, calculations, cost estimates, construction observation, and other related duties
  • Serve as project manager and lead multi-discipline teams on key water resources projects
  • Serve as a specialist in providing technical guidance for complex and unique assignments
  • Be a strategic technical leader in business development and client relationship building activities
  • Interact with clients on existing projects and support business development initiatives
  • Mentor entry and junior level staff

Job Requirements
Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in Civil, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering, Groundwater Geology or Hydrogeology, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in water resources engineering or hydrogeology
  • Proven track record of leading complex technical assignments
  • Experience with hydrologic, hydraulic, or groundwater software and analysis techniques
  • Planning, permitting, modeling, analysis and design of groundwater, surface water or stormwater systems, including water quantity and water quality considerations
  • Knowledge of:
    • Florida TMDL and MFL regulations
    • Florida consumptive use permitting processes for various water management districts
  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and perform field work at project sites
  • Active PE or PG license required, ability to obtain FL PE or PG within 6 months of hire required
