Sr. Storage Administrator
Job Description Infogroup is looking for top talent to join our fast-paced and innovative team. We are seeking a Sr. Storage Administrator to join our Papillion, NE office.This position is responsible for managing the development, installation, implementation, configuration and support of storage infrastructure. This position will be a lead in conducting storage technology assessments, and administering business solutions.
Essential Job Functions: 1. Work on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. 2. Plan and manage large scale systems projects. Lead and partner with engineering and administrators colleagues. 3. Assume the lead role in the design of storage solutions and supporting hardware and software. 4. Manage, maintain and enhance the Storage Area Network (SAN) disk, Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems and switched network infrastructure. 5. Manage SAN capacity and performance using appropriate reporting and monitoring tools. 6. Support requests for new storage, backups and restores, working with other teams. 7. Provide input and support for infrastructure and application development projects that require storage infrastructure. 8. Evaluate and analyze the storage infrastructure to provide optimum performance and availability. 9. Maintain market awareness of new products that could potentially offer improved value to the business. 10. Liaise with appropriate application development representatives to optimize value to the business. 11. Assist in the development of departmental policies, processes and procedures.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: 1. Ability to work under pressure, resolve technical problems quickly, automate processes and solutions using available tools, and develop in-house tools where necessary. 2. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a complex, dynamic team environment with minimal supervision and possess good organizational skills. 3. Ability to write proposals or papers, act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to audiences of professional peers, and work closely and openly with management. 4. Proven ability to develop and document solutions and configurations. 5. Knowledge of storage and recovery management principles and techniques is required. 6. Strong knowledge of raid technologies (10/5/6/3) and major vendors' implementation strategies. 7. Knowledge of SAN technologies. 8. Working knowledge or storage backup systems, like Symantec NetBackUp. 9. Knowledge of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management information base (MIB) as a monitoring technology. 10. Knowledge of project methodology and process. 11. Knowledge of distributed storage management software. 12. Knowledge of databases and large file storage layout designs. 13. Strong decision making and problem solving skills and an understanding of quality assurance and systems testing methodologies. 14. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the Company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional manner. 15. Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple assignments on a daily basis. 16. Ability to serve as a mentor to junior team members. Education, Experience, and Certification: 1. Bachelor's degree in programming, computer science, systems engineering or related field, or equivalent is required. 2. 7 years of work experience in UNIX/Windows systems administration/engineering, or equivalent SAN/NAS work experience is required. 3. Experience with management of SAN switches is required. 4. Experience working in a business critical production support environment is preferred. 5. Hands on experience in technical infrastructure operations is preferred. 6. Experience with high availability designs, capacity planning techniques is preferred. 7. Experience with zoning techniques and best practices, joining of fabrics, large fabrics, interswitch linkings, and high quality datacenter wiring techniques is preferred. 8. Experience with 3PAR, NetApp, EMC, iSCSI, Infiniband, and replication over WAN is preferred.
